The Story behind Chipper Tree Care

I began my career as a secondary school science teacher in Teesside, North East England. While teaching, I became increasingly frustrated that the knowledge I was delivering, although valuable for some, often failed to support the most vulnerable students in my classroom. This experience inspired me to create businesses that operate commercially while placing genuine social impact and personal development at their core — more aligned with the values of a caring school than a traditional profit-driven company.

Since leaving teaching, I have gained broad experience across multiple sectors, including leading a technology-focused micro-enterprise in partnership with the University of Nottingham, managing Eden Softplay in The Meadows, and working as a professional handyman across Nottingham. Throughout these roles, I have maintained a strong personal commitment to transforming lives and creating meaningful opportunities.

 

This vision led to the establishment of Chipper Tree Care. Today, we actively support young people who have disengaged from the education system and face limited prospects for their future. We provide them with high-quality training, apprenticeships, mentoring, and genuine friendship in a supportive working environment.
